QEveryone’s daily life is demanding and time is limited. As a breeder, I always try to find ways and methods that save me time and simplify my life.
Over the years, I have found that almost every breeder during the breeding season prepares a new batch of softfood every day using rusk or sprouted seeds or simply change the commercial eggfood they use to which they do not add the above.
As mentioned in another article, instead of preparing a new batch of egg feed every day, you can prepare a new batch of egg feed every 2-3 days to save time.
The topic of this article is the practice of breeders adding the corresponding preparations to this small quantity each time they need to use commercial eggfood. This has two major negative points that should concern you:
The first and biggest is that taking a small amount of commercial egg feed and often adding the nutritional supplements “by eye” leads to an unstable recipe every time. Because in a small amount of egg feed, every small variation in the amount of a nutritional supplement has a big impact. While in a large amount of egg feed it is negligible.
Simplify your life and take more serious management of your flock of birds starting from your simple daily routine.
QThat is why I recommend the following methodology:
Take a large amount of commercial egg feed, e.g. 5 kilos and depending on the period (reproduction, molting, etc.) add the necessary preparations (nutritional supplements).
But you will add them by weighing them with a precision scale and you mean you will mix them well in a larger container for complete homogeneity.
With this practice, all 5 kilos will have exactly the same amount of preparations and therefore composition. Keep in mind that if a period is approaching when you need to change the formula quotas, then prepare a smaller amount with formulas or if you have some left with supplements in it, then simply if, for example, you need to increase the protein, then weigh the remaining commercial egg food and add the appropriate breedmax, calcium, etc. Otherwise, weigh it again and simply add commercial egg food without formulas to “weaken” your mixture.
The weakness in the practice that breeders do this process and put the necessary formulas in the commercial egg food they are currently using is the following:
Beyond the time you waste adding the various nutritional supplements on a daily basis, it also has a much bigger negative point. Usually, most breeders take a small amount of commercial egg feed that they need at a given time, without weighing it, and add the formulations they use again without weighing them either. They simply add them, “by eye” or many times use dosing measures from different manufacturers, which is also wrong.
We must keep in mind that each formulation (when we are talking about powder) has a different volumetric (volumetric) measurement, so the measurement of one product does not accurately reflect the dosage of another. The most correct thing is to weigh each formulation in the desired dosage.
So the conclusion is, simplify your life and take more serious management of your flock of birds starting from your simple daily routine.
By the way, below I will mention the preparations I use in the preparation of 5 kg Avimax Forte of eggfood, either dry to be used with rusk or sprouted seeds or soft to be offered to the birds during the summer season as is.
